Handling Setbacks

Woke up this morning with a message on my mind. Proverbs 18:16 A man’s gift makes room for him, And brings him before great men”

Handling Setbacks

Over the past few months I have gone after some new opportunities. Unfortunately, they did not pan out as I had hoped, however, something amazing happened. I learned some new things about myself. I learned that I am built to win and if one door doesn’t open it simply means that wasn’t the door for me at that time. I do not want what is not meant for me. Period. I have also learned that through those experiences of prepping to “stay ready’ so I didn’t have to “get ready” also opened new doors for me. I have tightened up my messaging, branding and confidence all while staying focused on my health and fitness goals. Its the consistency for me. I am proud of myself for continuing to push forward even when I am tired. We don’t always pat ourselves on the back but its actually those small wins that keep us motivated to move forward.

God is aligning things for me to walk into. I see it. That’s not hopeful or positive thinking. I literally see opportunities opening up right in front me in both my personal and professional life. I am in awe of HIS Grace. I am very much aware that God will often bless us through relationships and I am thankful for my family, sisterhood, goal friends, mentors, advocates and sponsors who make up my incredible support system. Those who know me personally, know that I work incredibly hard. When it’s time to work. I work. When its time to play I play hard and in between I am working this weight of the world off my shoulders and off my body. How do you handle the setbacks in your life?

Do you crawl into a safe corner to recover? Or do you decide that you will keep moving in spite of the disappointment and hurt? The pandemic has caused a false sense of security or “Safe Haven” for some of us who prefer not to be around crowds but at what cost? Are we winning on our own or are we sheltering ourselves from the past disappointments and pain. I challenge you to simply start where you are. Decide what you want and create a plan of action. Work the weight
