Final Weigh-In: 12-Week Online Challenge

The final weigh-in has arrived, and I’m excited to share my progress! I started this 12-week challenge at 189 lbs and finished at 181 lbs, with 8 pounds and just under 6 inches lost overall. It’s been a tough but rewarding journey, and I’m feeling stronger and more confident than ever.

Final 12 week Weigh in results:  8 pounds and just under 6 inches lost overall

There were definitely some hurdles along the way—missed a couple of mandatory photo updates and had to juggle a busy schedule filled with events. But I managed to stay consistent, and that made all the difference. Here are some lessons and tips I picked up along the way for anyone considering their own fitness journey:

Lessons Learned from Challenge

  1. Consistency Beats Perfection
No one’s perfect, and you don’t have to be. There were days I didn’t get every workout in or missed a few check-ins, but I kept showing up. Progress is about sticking with it, not being perfect. Don’t let a setback stop you—just keep moving forward, one day at a time.

  2. Find Your Support System
Having people to check in with and share the journey makes a huge difference. Whether it’s a friend, a group, or an online community, having a support system can keep you motivated, especially when things get tough. Knowing someone’s cheering you on helps you push through.

  3. Adapt When You Need To
Due to ongoing back pain, I had to adjust my routine and take a break from certain weighted exercises. I pivoted to walking and running on my walking pad increasing my cardio. That small change turned out to be a game-changer—the scale started to move again. It reminded me that sometimes you need to listen to your body and make adjustments rather than push through pain.

  4. Plan Around Life’s Chaos
Let’s be real—life doesn’t stop because you’re focused on fitness. During this challenge, I had more events and social commitments than I expected. I learned to plan ahead, squeeze in workouts where I could, and make smarter choices when dining out. Little adjustments here and there add up, and they helped me stay on track without feeling like I was missing out.

  5. Celebrate Wins Beyond the Scale
It’s easy to get caught up in the numbers, but there’s so much more to success than what the scale shows. For me, it was about how I felt in my clothes, noticing an increase in energy, and building strength. Celebrate the non-scale victories because they’re just as important.

  6. Set a New Goal Before You Finish the Last One
Fitness isn’t a destination; it’s an ongoing journey. As soon as this challenge wrapped up, I set my sights on my next goal. Having something to work toward keeps the momentum going and makes it easier to stick with your routine. For me, it’s all about getting ready for bikini season and feeling good in my skin!

I’m so proud of how far I’ve come, and I’m excited for what’s next. If you’re thinking about starting your own fitness journey, remember: it’s not about being perfect. It’s about showing up, adapting, and enjoying every step along the way.

Here’s to getting stronger every day!
